Participants of the 2026 WGSUP interim meeting held virtually on 9 June 2026
The NEA Working Group on Supply Chain (WGSUP) held a meeting on 9 June 2026 to review progress on global efforts to strengthen oversight of counterfeit, fraudulent and suspect items (CFSI) as well as to prepare for an upcoming international workshop on the same theme in Ankara, Türkiye, this October.
The meeting brought together representatives from multiple regulatory authorities, technical support organisations (TSOs) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), highlighting strong engagement within the community. Discussions focused on how regulators can improve collaboration to mitigate CFSI, with a particular focus on practical sessions for the Workshop on Counterfeit, Fraudulent and Suspect Items (CFSI) Management for the Nuclear Supply Chain.
A key development was the group’s recent presentation to the NEA Committee on Nuclear Regulatory Activities (CNRA) during its June 2026 meeting. CNRA endorsed the rapid dissemination of an informational flyer on WGSUP's session at the 2025 World Nuclear Exhibition (WNE). This opportunity is expected to increase visibility of the group’s work among industry stakeholders and promote greater participation from licensees and vendors for upcoming workshop.
The interim meeting also confirmed next steps for the 2026 workshop and related future activities. The main objectives identified include: ensuring balanced international representation while maintaining a focused and technically-relevant audience as possible within the constraints of the workshop.
Overall, the meeting underscored WGSUP’s growing influence as a platform for international collaboration on supply chain safety, with continued emphasis on prevention, detection and information sharing across regulatory communities.
